See Special Provisions for additional construction information, details and traffic control. 2. Protect all utilities, poles, signs and existing improvements in place unless otherwise directed by the engineer or noted on these plans. Where relocation of these utilities are required, the contractor shall co-ordinate construction as necessary and as approved by the engineer. 3. All structures shall be Class "A11 concrete, fIc=3,000 psi unless otherwise noted. 4. All reinforcing bars shall be intermediate grade fs = 20,000 psi (fy = 40,000 psi) and shall be deformed in accordance with the latest revision of A.S.T.M. designation A-305. 5. Embedment clearance is to outside of main reinforcement and unless otherwise noted shall be 2" where concrete is poured against forms and 3" where concrete is poured against earth. 6. Reinforcing bars shall be spliced only where shown or where approved by the engineer. Where reinforcement bar splices occur, they shall have a minimum 24 d'ia. lap, unless otherwise noted or approved by the engineer. 7. The clearance between face of concrete and reinforcing steel shall be measured from the face of the concrete to the nearest outside edge of the reinforcing steel. Clearance tolerance shall not be greater than 1/411. 8. These plans depict all active utilities known by the district to exist at this time except individual private services. 9. Pipes at structures shall be trimmed to final shape and length before concrete is poured. 10. See Standard Plat 165 and 165A for construction joint details. 1 I. All bar bends and hooks shall conform to the AC I's (318-63) 'Building Code Requirement for Reinforced Concrete" -Section 801.
